Milestones/Developments:
Pointing: if you ask her "where is daddy" or "where is ..." she will point at what ever object and or person (who she knows) you ask her. its pretty cute

Little monkey is getting better and better at walking. this morning she took 7 steps without falling at all! before it was 3 then she would fall then take 3 more..

Can not stress enough on how bad we need to baby proof for the walking stage!

Adventures Of The Week:

Ohhh, the adventures this week. So Wednesday we decided to make a quick trip to Florida..and when i say quick i mean we spend more time in the car driving than we did visiting. We left Wednesday night at 10pm driving through the night (well Amanda drove) arriving at my dads house at 6am. Riley slept pretty much the entire way, i slepts about 2.5-3 hours and poor amanda didnt sleep at all. We napped and showered and we were back on the road again by 11 am, drove down to Tampa to load up pretty much the rest of our stuff that was at my Aunts house. We drove back to orlando slept for 6 hours got up and drove back home. The drive home was awful, traffic was bad, the drivers were bad everything just wasnt working out. Amanda had to go straight to work when we got home, and i got to unload the boxes, and find all of our items we were missing...its so nice to have all of your stuff back.

Vacation:
Day 1: Traveling to California

The day just started out the wrong way but we are just going to start this one when we arrived at the CLT airport: We got there 2.5 hours early prepared for the lines of people checking through security... NO ONE WAS IN LINE, there was literally 1 other person in front of us. We went through security without a problem, not even a second glance (which is nice... Conner seems to always get searched) i was expecting to get searched because i had the baby and all of her milk and formula.

We decided to go to Chili's to get drinks and a snack...NOT a good idea with a stressed out momma (stressed at the thought of what was to come) and a baby who had not napped all day long. And as expected she cried and screamed and EVERYONE had to turn around and watch which is always annoying. So i was trying to put her back in the Bjorn carrier thing and hit her in the head with the plastic piece...preeetttyy hard...while everyone was watching me. Finally got her to calm down, John and Conner finished up and we made our way to our gate. Once we got there Riley just wanted to crawl around (im not okay with her crawling on the airport floor) so she screamed and cried because she didnt get her way so i decided to go ahead and change her diaper in the bathroom and walk around for a minute to distract her.

I laid Riley down on the changing table, took her pants and diaper off...and the little wiggle worm flipped over and stood up... and yup.. she started peeing..rigght on me. (nice right) John was able to distract her with some ice cream until they called for us to board. (which by they way is SO nice to board the plane first with a child...so glad they do that) We sat in our seats and of course riley started screaming and crying. John and I were ready to explode, but tried our hardest to keep our cool, I gave Riley a bottle and she stopped crying by the time everyone around us got to their seats (which was awesome) Riley slept for about 1.5 hours, Luckily the lady next to us on the plane was extremely nice and helped me entertain Riley during the flight. She played a while, cried a little and then slept some more...then we arrive in Pheonix,AZ

PHEONIX, AZ

we get off the plane (Im ready to hurt Johnboy) finally get our selves in line and get to our next gate (which was like a mile and a half walk.. that airport was not fun with an 18lb baby and a diaper bag that was probably ust as heavy has she is) John and Conner left to get some fresh air and i was left with 5 bags and a baby... who PEED through her diaper all over me..again! We board the plane, and Riley was extremely happy, play with all the magazines in the pocket infront of john, Riley started playing with the pocket infront of me, by chance i decided to look in the pocket just to make sure there wasnt anything in there that could hurt her... and LUCKILY I DID! THERE WAS A PUKE BAG WITH PUKE INSIDE STILL IN THE POCKET. i was disgusted. we finally got to California and things started to smooth out.

Hotel:

We hung out with mom and Terry for a while, letting Riley get some excercise in for the day and hang out with her Didi. After putting Riley to sleep i decided to take a steam bath, yes a steam bath..its was absolutely what i needed after being sick, and having a long stressful day, 20 minutes of just sitting there in the steam was absolutely amazing. i called it a night after that, it was a perfect way to end a stressful day.

Day2:Today we took it easy, explored locally, drove around palm springs, got conner some clothes (because we all know he definately needs them) We drove to the "wind farm", which was pretty cool to see the amount of windmills that were out there going up the mountains.

We went back to moms house, hung out and ate chili.

all in all it was a great day.

Day 3:

It was my morning to sleep in (didnt really get to sleep in but it was nice to rest without having to partake in the early morning routine) John and i are switching off mornings of who gets to sleep in and who has Riley duties. We have started taking her in the shower with us in the morning, it is the easiest way to keep her entertained, but still allowing the rest of the house to sleep, as well as getting a move on with our morning routine. She loves it, has an absolute blast!

We started our day getting some last minute things done before Thanksgiving, went to Macys and to Ross came back to Terry and moms house had lunch then ventured out for the day

Todays trip was to Indian Canyons, Palm Springs

absolutely beautiful, we walked along the trails (didnt feel so good on the knee but the view definitly made up for the pain) Ill let the pictures explain most of this trip, we definitly enjoyed our mini hike today.

After our hike mom and i went to pick up our honey baked ham for thanksgiving, and waited in like for 1 hour and 15 minutes with a starving, cranky baby...not fun at all, but luckily once you got in the door to the store they were giving out samples so riley got to snack a little.

Mom and I went to target before going back home (which by the way returning items at target is a nightmare... not sure if it is just here or if it is everywhere but it was awful)

Mom and i made Chicken Pot pie for dinner (homemade...moms recipe..AMAZING!) and then Terry and I made a cranberry apple pie , after making the pie i started on sister birthday cake. (Lemon cake with raspberry filling, i also made fondant icing for the top (havent put it on the cake yet we willl see how it goes.

Ryan and Rob arrive in minutes from now! cant wait to see them.

Day 4:
Its Ryans birthday! Happy Birthday Sister
Made 2 pumpkin pies this morning for our Thanksgiving feast. Later in the afternoon we drove up to The Joshua Tree National Park, another beautiful place in the desert. Im starting to wonder why i live in the city, when there is so many other beautiful places out there.
Another place you can't describe, just look at the pictures.

We hung out with Ryan for her birthday later on in the night. Mom took Riley for the night (ammmaaazzing) a full night of sleep and a morning i only had to get myself dressed and ready. Its always nice to have a break.

Day 5:

Its Thanksgiving, we have been cooking and preparing all morning to feast. Ammaaaazzing! Its our last day in California before we travel across the country to continue our normal lives again. It has been a great visit. Absolutely love being with my family. We had a great vacation and are not looking forward to leaving. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Day 6:

Our morning began pretty early, packing and preparing to leave. Got to the airport around 830am headed to phoenix (pictures below)

Riley slept both flights pretty much the entire time (thank god!)

Its nice to be back to our normal routine...but sucks at the same time.

we are home!

Lesson Learned This Week:

1. traveling with a baby is stressful

2. ...but if you stay calm and prepared, planning ahead its not all that bad.

3. its harder to travel with john and conner (except for the fact that they can carry bags for me) than it is to travel with a baby.

4. i really miss having my mommy around
