7 Months: Week 2

Its been a busy week for Riley Pie. We are wrapping up our stay in Florida... although things arent going as planned (go figure) and well as of now the date to go home doesnt exist. Amandas car is in the shop so i dont know how we are getting back or when we are getting back... Hopefully by the end of the week we will know when we are going to be back up in Charlotte with John again.

Speaking of which...I am pretty sure this "new " car of his that we got less than ayear ago is a bad luck charm. First Johns Grandfather backed up into the side of the car denting the entire back door, then i reversed into a tree knocking out the light and denting the other side, and then yesterday John was rear-ended on East blvd destroying the back of the car. Poor John and Poor Car.

Milestones/Accomplishments:

Clapping:

Riley has been "clapping" her hands for a while, but it was always with one hand in a fist and the other open and she didnt understand what exactly she was doing, but now she gets it. she will do something and then clap about it.. its very cute.

Kissy Noises:

This one took me a while to figure out, i wasnt sure what she was doing. She smacks her lips together and makes a noise... i first thought it was just another cute noise she was making...


I always giver her lots of kisses really fast on her tummy..cheek...neck and it makes the same noise... i did it to her the other day and she laughed and looked at me and then did it back. She has been giving kisses to me for a couple months (the opened mouth slobber on your face kind) but to watch her mock me is extremely cute!


Talking

My Babbling baby has a word list now. Its not just baby talk anymore she is actually saying things..

1. Mama: this was her first
2 Baba: she says baba when she wants her sipy cup
3. No: she will actually tell me No! its cute for now!
4. Dog: Yesterday i had her in the walker and she was looking through the door at the dog and i said something about seeing the dog and she looked and said Dog.

Teething

Oh boy is she teething... this poor baby has been so grumpy and feverish and miserable for the past week and i still dont see them breaking through yet.. and yes it is teething she is not just sick.. she has every single sign of teething. i feel so bad for her.

Great Eatter

No this is not including Rileys top food groups (Dirt, Dog Fur and Paper).

well baby food went out the window... Riley will not eat it...i dont blame her it is bland and absolutely the worst thing i have ever tasted. Instead she eats basically what ever i am eatting (it is a well balanced meal... and healthy...same as what the baby food is just...better.) And boy does she love food.

her new favorites are wheat crackers with cheese, Green beans, Mac - n- cheese, she loves pasta. well she loves basically anything i give her... except baby food.

Seperation Anxiety

We both have a case of this. I get really anxious when ever i can't see her or i am away from her for to long, when i sleep i wake up multiple times in the middle of the night freaking out, i have nightmares about her ..causing me to shoot out of bed to check on her.

Last night i had a nightmare that she was turning blue .. her arm and ears and neck and face. I shot up out of bed to check on her and she wasnt there..i had a mini panic attack and then turned and realized she was already in my bed. She was Safe, i dont move when i sleep and the bed is big enough for both of us. Yes i know its not safe to have her in the bed but there was nothing around her but empty bed... and the bed is against the wall so she couldnt have fallen out. It scared me. i had another dream it was scary was well but not as bad as that one.

Anytime i leave her or she is handed to someone she doesnt know that well she will cry and cry until she is back in my arms and then turn and look and smile at them and interact. She still wants to talk and play with them just in the safety of her mommys arms.

Adventures for the Week:

Last minute Family time...Labor Day, Riley and I made last minute visits to family memebers. We got to spend some time with Aunt Eden, Uncle Junk and Cousins Walker and Hunter. It was great seeing them as always.

After visiting with the McEwan family we went over to Aunt Leslie and Uncle Larry's so they could meet Riley for the first time, Jennifer and Nick where also there... I hate that so much time has gone by since the last time i got to see and really spend time with my family, so much has happend in everyones lifes. Later on we got to see Jojo and Logan for a breif second... Leslie and I drove over to Jump her car.

We Played with Baby Leah and Meghan for a day, and of course its always great spending time with them. I love that family and i can't believe that its already getting bigger. Im excited for you Meghan Nicole Byrdcage!

In Other news:

Heather Smiths baby shower is this Saturday and i am hoping that everything goes as planned and i will get to make an appearance.

Another Friend of mine in Charlotte is due September 17th she will be having a baby girl as well. Im so glad that i have friends that will be going through the same thing i am... and that Riley will have friends to grow up with.

7 months: week 1

Adventures of the week:

A Day with Mimi:
I finally got a break, Riley went with "Mimi" on Sunday for a grand total of 4 hours, They went to target and to run some other earrands while mommy (me!) got to enjoy for the first time in a couple of weeks an afternoon with Auntie Rye.

Ryan and i drank coffee and played cards for 3.5 hours....yes that is what i did with my time without a baby, and i would have to say that is one great way... to be able to focus on one thing for 3.5 hours and enjoy doing it with wonderful company.... My attention wasnt divided between 20 different things, i didnt have to bounce and fight a baby inorder for her to sit still. it was a nice break. NOT saying i didnt miss my little bug i completely did and she was still my main focus but it was nice to know she was being taken care of...by someone else for the afternoon!



Paying our Ticket:

...Or my ticket, our adventure to get this ticket thing handled took place this week. i absolutely hate doing things like this... and what is a 10 dollar convience charge.. that wasnt convienant...not at all!





Milestones/Develoments:



"Mama":
She said MAMA!!! I had just put her to bed and walked out of the room about 5 minutes later i hear Maaaammaaaa....mama mama mama... i walked back in to the room and she was sitting in her crib with tears streaming down her face yelling Mama. and this continued for another 10 minutes. It was so awesome i didnt even mind that she was going to bed late!



Getting Stronger:

So Riley has been able to sit and stand by herself for a while now... but her latest accomplishment is standing on her knees and balancing there without holding on to anything... I am very impress and i am glad that she can do that... she is gaining control over her mid section.

Its hard to believe that within the next couple of weeks little one will be walking (im guessing she will be)... I will hold her hands while she walks allowing her to only use me if she is to fall, she holds all her weight and she is starting to be able to walk a little bit further each time. Her tummy doesnt roll everywhere anymore, she is gaining control!



Crawling:
Riley can crawl! At the beginning of last week she started doing 1 full crawl motion and then would belly it to scoot...at the beginning of this week she started crawling a little bit more, then would belly it to scoot (she could get around faster scooting)...Now she crawls where ever she wants to go... still working on the speed and i have to encourage her to crawl over scooting (because she is still faster at scooting) but most importantly she is crawling!.. and i am sure walking is soon to come!


In other news:
This is our last week in Florida before heading back to North Carolina. I am going to miss my family i havent had them around this much since i lived here 9 years ago... its bitter sweet. i get to go home to my hunny bunny and see him everything as well as my friends.. but im leaving behind the rest of my family. i am going to make a pact with..myself that i will be down here everyother month. there is no way i can't. i miss them too much. i still REALLY refer to live in North Carolina but i love seeing and spending time with sisters and dad and Lisa. It has been great. And of course Riley has enjoyed every last minute of it.

It will be nice to get back into a routine for Riley and I. i am trying to get my school stuff in order and activities for Riley and I to enjoy with others.
