8 months: week 4

Bonfire:

We all went out to Conners on Saturday night; he was having a bonfire. Riley was a trooper! She stayed up to party till 230 am...took a small nap in there around 12 am but i was very proud of how great she did and that she actually stayed in a great mood alll night. She slept in till 930 the next day then took a 3 hour nap with mommy the next day. She had a good time dancing and playing with everyone.

Learning to Walk:

This is a work in progress, and we have been practicing for about a week know. Trying to take her out of her walker more and let her walk on her own more often. she is now able to take a couple of steps on her own. She is doing great. At the Bonfire we had time to play and practice with her!

EYEBALL EMERGENCY!

So the other day we were getting ready to leave for lunch and Riley Pie was crawling around on the floor, i picked her up and she rubbed her eye (it was nap time and she was absolutely exhausted)... in doing so little miss Riley some how scratched her entire eye from side to side. (didnt know this at the time)... i tried to rinse it out because she was screaming and i thought that something must have gotten in her eye.. she screamed more. she eventually just closed her eyes and went to sleep so i figured let her keep it closed and if she cries she can cry it out and maybe that will help. We ate and she was fine, came home and took a 2 hour nap which she would wake up rub her eye and SCREAM....then i started to think trying to figure out what could have gotten in there if there was something stuck in there. Freaked out because i then remembered that about 4 days before that i had dropped and broken glass was possibly on the floor, called the doctor when i saw that her eye was swollen shut. Went to the doctors then they sent us to a specialist... 3.5 hours later...NO GLASS in the eye Her finger nail had scratched her. Next day we went back for a check up and it was all better no scratch. I wanted to cry, i felt so bad for her!

8 months: week 3

I've been trying to get out more, or have others around more often hoping that this seperation anxiety thing can be fixed...soon! i can't do anything without her wanting to be in my arms, or in eyesigh AT LEAST. while preparing dinner i am playing a constant peek-a-boo game with her turning around every 2 seconds because she is in her walker behind me screaming...not crying..screaming. At the end of the month Riley will spend her first night away from Mommy... and mommy isnt hadling this well.. okay okay i have seperation anxiety as well.. BUT i have been going out once a week to get out of the house.. its a work in progress.

ISSUES:Pulling hair and hitting are our BIGGEST issue at the moment, and the worst part is she thinks it is funny when you tell her "No" and when you say "Ouch" from being hurt she laughs even harder, I'm clueless at this point on what to do.

any advice is welcome (but please don't state the obvious.)

Milestones/Developments:

Riley learned a new word! She says "Hi" now. Anytime someone comes into the room she will look at them and say "Hi" or anytime she turns and looks at you after not looking at you for a couple of minutes she will say "Hi" when you open the car door to get her out of her car seat she smiles at you and says "Hi" i love it. it is very cute!

TEETH!

1...2...3..4 NEW TEETH! Last week i found a new tooth on the top and then the other day i looked in her mouth again and the 2 front teeth are coming in, the one next to them and one on the bottom next to her 2 she has already! At least i know now the sleepless nights and napless days have been for a reason. The poor baby girl has been miserable, i feel so bad for her. Its so exciting to see them come in, but it makes me sad at the same time (yes i know i am loser) the more teeth she gets means the older she is getting... i don't want her to get bigger! that just means i am one day closer to the day she doesn't want mommy around all the time.

Dancing :

Riley loves dancing, though is not an independent dancer if you hold her hand dance around with her she absolutely has a blast, its one of our new favorite things to do that she can enjoy with everyone in the house.

Play Dates:

Logan

Riley had 2 play dates this week! She finally got to play with her boy-fran Logan (who is a major cutie). It is so awesome to have another baby the same age as her for her to play with. They had fun playing and hitting and pulling each others hair. More play dates are needed.


Zoie

Riley got to meet her newest friend Zoie (Rachel's baby) we went to Target and left with a very cute winter hat (its a lamb) she isnt fond of it yet but we have a couple months till it is going to be necessary so we have time to warm up to the idea of a hat.


Hanging with Amanda:


Its so awesome to have such an awesome friend as a roommate who loves your kid more than you could ever ask someone else to. John and I got to go on our first date since Riley was born this evening because Amanda decided to miss a great show to stay home and watch Riley Pie for me, and the best part is they had a blast.. She loves Amanda and Amanda loves playing with her.

Hanging out with Uncle Corndog:

We spent the day with Uncle Corndog (Conner) on Friday...and Thursday night, he ACTUALLY held Riley for the first time, we went to the grocery store and she was crying i was busy getting stuff for the bonfire and so Conner carried her around the store and she absolutely loved it, she loves her Uncle Corndog..she always tries to play with him, but last night was the first time she was able to hold him

8 months: week 2 ...an update of the past couple weeks

We have Wifi in the backyard!... and the back of the kitchen and Rileys room! wahooo. Now if i can just find more time to update this thing.
Riley is doing awesome, she is learning something new every day, GROWING every day. that baby is like a weed she just gets bigger and bigger by the second. Its absolutely amazing to watch her do..anything.

Things have been kinda hechtic around here. I cant fully take care of Riley by myself yet and can do everything on my own yet, it sucks. I have to have help putting my pants on. I can't wait til i am back to my 100 percent. although i have not let this broken leg stop me it definately gets in the way big time.

Daddy and Baby:
My absolute favorite thing to see in the world is John holding Riley, and watching them interact with each other. There isnt anything in the world i would rather wake up to than my 2 favorite people in the world smiling at me and at each other. I love my little family <3

Uncle Corndog:
Stilll wont hold baby...or touch her.. or come near here. WE WILL BREAK HIM!

My Mommy:
i miss her so much.. i can't wait til she is able to come back in town.

Family in Florida:
I love and miss you all i am sorry i havent had much free time everything takes so much longer to do and i am never alone to have a conversation. im sorry but i love and miss you all so much.
And Riley misses her Auntie Rye, Auntie Hayden, Mimi and Uncle grandpa a whole lot. Can't wait to come back and visit!


Milestones/Developments:

Riley is working her way to becoming the ULTIMATE monster...and doing a great job at it.
you tell her "No" and she either repeats you or she will smile at you and give you the "immm gonna keep doiinnng it" look. Evil is what it is. She is a trouble maker for sure!

New Tooth:
Today i Spotted a new tooth! its hanging out there a good amount that thing came in fast and out of nowhere . it is on the top...its not her front teeth though it is the one next to the front tooth. No wonder she has been in such a funk this week.... and her gums look like there are some more coming in. i was just thinking to myself yesterday "when is she going to get me teeth" and then there they are!

CLOSE TO WALKING:
She is starting to stand more on her own, for some reason after she learned how to stand and balance herself she stopped wanting to stand up. She gets nervous now. I am going to take her out of her walker more often now (even though she loves that thing) but i think it is keeping her from walking. She leans forward (as if she was going to push her walker) when i try to get her to walk while holding my hands. After a few times walking around she finally straightens up her body and walks like she should, she took 2 steps last week on her own.. but i think its time to start retiring the walker... at least until she is able to for real walk.


Schedule:
Finally she is back on her normal schedule, a couple of days she has been off but it happens. She is sleeping better at night again (now that she is not in the play pin). I have to RE-break the mid night wake up she has been doing lately but that shouldnt be too hard (as long as i dont give in)
and i need to work on her putting herself to sleep again, since i have been broken it is hard for me to walk back and forth to the crib when she cries so i have been rocking her to sleep so i only have to get up once (or so who ever is helping me only has to get up once) and now she will not go to sleep without being rocked.

Seperation Anxiety:
This child has it bad! if i am 5 feet away from her she freaks. she has to be close to me or in my arms at all times, It is getting A little bit better, if someone (john or amanda) picks her up and takes her out of eye sight of me completely she will calm down and be okay with it, but once she sees me again its all over.

Fits:
It is awful, she screams and cries to the point you think she is hurt, she starts breathing really fast you think she is hyperventalating its awful! Hopefully we get through this stage soon!



Mommy and Daddy:
we have yet to have a night out or a "Date" soon we will have to, the days just go by so fast and John is always at work its hard to get out, not to mention we are tight on money the next couple months, but we do spend a lot more time together and with Riley at the house. John is so great with her, they play in the morning before he goes to work, and then when he has a break they play.
Tuesdays are "Family" days, John has a full day off work so we all get to be together, Wednesdays are mommys nights to get out of the house and daddy watches the baby and John gets to pick the other nights depending on what is going on to go out and then the rest of the nights we are all home together. Its nice to be back with him, He is so great to us and takes such great care of both Riley and I. I couldnt ask for a better person to spend the rest of my life with! I love him. <3

Play Dates:
we are still looking for playdates.. so far we have been canceled on by ..well everyone we have tried to play with... enough said. Im working on finding new friends to play with.
