5 months: week 3

Developments/Milestones:
my freak out from last week update: Of course Riley is getting enough to eat, she is gaining weight, she is healthy and active and she eats till she cant eat anymore. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HER. i am just paranoid and i want to make sure that i don't over look something. i want her to be the healthiest she could possibly be.

Riley is learning how to sit on her own (and is doing a great job). She will be crawling/army scooting any day now. she has been scooting in a circle (to reach what she wants) for the past couple weeks and each day gets a little faster at it, and each day she can hold herself up on her (extended) arms longer.

Riley is talking more, moving more, understanding how the world works a little bit more. She gives kisses now (the baby drooly ones...but they still are the sweetest) she hugs and holds me. she becomes more of a person every day. from one day to another what she learns is amazing.

Her favorite thing to do at the moment is to walk in her walker. she has an absolute blast chasing the dog around the house arms out flailing, screaming on the top of her lungs with a huge grin on her face, running as fast as her little legs will let her after the poor dog. It makes my life soooo much easier. Riley has always loved to stand up and walk ... she has since she figured out at 6 weeks...why wouldnt she love her walker! i can clean the house, cook dinner, do my hair, take a shower, do what ever it is i need to do and she will just follow me around the house in the walker. i dont mind the cuts and scrapes from her running me over or the bruise on my feet from running them over....she is entertained, occupied and is getting excercise.

Bath time is also another favorite now-a-days. i use to have to make bath time a fast thing, get her in and out before she started fussing. but now its like 20 minutes of calm play time/entertainment. .the simple things are amazing life savers!

DRAMA QUEEN is what baby girl is. she has this new thing when she gets upsets or cries
(its pretty darn cute but all i see is trouble later on in life) she puts her hand across her forehead or eyes (back of head to head) and throws herself backwards and lets out a cry. its horribly... but very funny. i laugh every time and then she laughs so it works out.

Our excitement of the week:
John is coming down today (ETA 430...3 hours from now!). I can't believe it has been 5 weeks, and i cant believe we haven't seen him in that long. Papa and Tanya also get back tonight. A FULL HOUSE! i have been waiting for a full house, company someone to talk to....and a 5 minute break.

Friday we will be making our way back to N.C. for 3 weeks. Hope to see everyone while we are there!
