HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY RILEY!
I can't believe it has already been 6 months, time goes by so fast. It amazes me how much she has grown and how much she has learned over the last 6 months. Being back with John has been awesome, Riley and I missed him so much, i can't believe the 3 weeks is almost over and we will be going back to Florida and leaving daddy behind for another 5 weeks.
John and I looked at places the other day and are pretty excited to have somewhere to call home by September 1st. we have a lot to work out and get done by then but it is going to be exciting to have a place again, and get into a routine that will work for all of us.
Developments/Milestones:
Riley learned how to wave this week. 2 different waves, she has her hello wave, and her good-bye wave. During church today she was absolutely exhausted so i walked out with her and was standing in the hall talking to her asking her if she wanted to go bye-bye, and her little hand went up and started waving bye, every time i said it she would start waving. It amazes me how much she understands the world around her now. She understands the cause and effect matter of life. She is SO close to crawling...last night she got the closest to crawling she has ever gotten, she rolled over my leg into the crawling stance, stayed like that for a good 7 seconds then went back to the belly. Soon soon soon she will be crawling!
Adventures/excitement of the week:
Finally back with Daddy! She remember exactly who daddy was. it was so awesome to see how she reacted to him, i was kinda worried at first thinking that she wasn't going to remember who he was...but she did. The biggest smile on her face as she studied everything about him. she absolutely loves her daddy. Every time he walks into the room Riley with smile and stare at him the entire time he is in eyesight.
The first Saturday we were back in Charlotte we had a family gathering for Riley's great grandad (johns grandfather) where Riley got to see he Family (Tita, Uncle Lee, Aunt Ryn, Grandad). It was nice seeing everyone and of course Riley LOVED the attention.
my little trooper has been so good this week (she is good all the time but especially this week), my poor baby hasn't been to bed on time all week, we don't get home from picking up her daddy till 1am and we are out all day long so she doesn't get a proper nap. she has been so well behaved and patient through all of the craziness. i couldn't ask for a better child!.
We went to the doctor at the beginning of the week, where Riley was the main attraction in the waiting room... she was talking and laughing with every one in there... there is no such thing as minding our own anymore! we both were a little sick and while we were here in town i wanted her to see the doctor to make sure it wasn't anything serious.... just a virus. she is fine.. she now weighs 15 lbs 6 oz! such a big girl!
LESSON LEARNED THIS WEEK
if you plan on going to church with a sleepy baby that likes to sleep in her crib and only her crib (well she sleeps the best in her crib) don't leave the house WITHOUT a pacie.
