It feels as if it was yesterday i was coming home from the hospital with her, giving her her first bath, watching her hold her head up all by herself, first scoot, first crawl, first steps....
I looked over at her today and realized how big my baby was, how much she has grown physically and mentally.
We are about to celebrate Riley's first Christmas, its extremely exciting for me to prepare for Christmas this year, Christmas cards, putting the tree up and decorating it, thinking of things to get for Riley Jane (that aren't just toys...things that will be useful for this upcoming year)
Then i have to think about her birthday, we aren't going to do anything to big for either one, but it will be something special for all of us.
Her Favorite Toy:
A baby doll: 3 dollars at Target, she has 2 of them and carries these babies EVERYWHERE. She rocks them saying "Shh Shh" (she is very smart!) carries them tucked under her arm. Gives them kisses... its the sweetest thing to watch her take care of her babies.
High Fives:
Riley gives high fives now, we haven't ever tried to do the high five thing with her, and the other day we were all laying in bed and John and I were showing her how to high five, she got it right off the bat!
Understanding:
she knows exactly what you are talking about. you tell her "no" she will either stop doing it... or look back at you while she is doing it with an evil little grin.
I can ask her where her baby is. She will point in the direction of the baby doll. I ask her to go get her baby for mommy, and she will walk her little self across the house right to the diaper bag grab her baby and come back and hand her to me. amazing.
The fact that her little brain can compute all of the information without getting distracted on something else is just amazing to me.
Screaming:
holy goodness, screaming is her new way of expressing herself. i might lose my mind.
