Riley’s first birthday is approaching; I can’t even believe she is almost one! Time as just flown by. She keeps me pretty busy, I haven’t had much of anytime to sit down and type. Which is fine by me, we enjoy every last minute of playtime together.
She is amazing, I know I say this a lot but really she is, I was truly blessed with an amazing child, she is smart…so smart she amazes me with some of the things she knows and understands and she is absolutely hilarious! I’ve never met someone with such a great personality… she truly is wonderful.
Christmas:
Riley’s first Christmas was more than I could have hoped for; she has so many people who helped make this Christmas one I will always remember. She is truly loved by all.
We opened presents at home Christmas morning, Amanda and Ryan joined us. She was so stinking cute running up to the tree, she was so excited. John and I opened the presents for her…she was too busy playing with the toys.
John and Riley played with the new musical instruments we got her then we headed to Johns moms house where his Family was, had Christmas dinner and opened up presents with Riley there.
Her favorite toy being the Grand Piano (which we absolutely love as well).
And to end a perfect day it snowed on our way home…and through the night and all the next day. We got our White Christmas, the first white Christmas in Charlotte in 46 years.
The Flu:
Ohhh how I am so grateful that it held off till the day after Christmas, we were absolutely miserable, I haven’t had the flu in…well I don’t think I have ever had the flu... Riley and I were stuck in bed for days. My poor little girl felt awful, you could see it on her face, she was so weak I felt so bad for her…but she handled it like a champ, we had thought that she had bronchitis or strep throat (because that’s what Amanda had and we thought that Riley and I got it from her) so I took her to the doctor so double check and get medicine for her…she came back with the results and well it was the Flu (worse than having bronchitis) its scary when your baby is sick and there is nothing you can do about it.
